What's the Difference Between Therapy and Coaching? Why do you do both?Therapy and coaching are two distinct fields that focus on helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals. While there are some similarities between the two, there are also some key differences. Therapy is a mental health profession that focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, emotional issues, and other psychological challenges. Therapists are Masters or PhD trained mental health professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, and counselors, who use a variety of techniques to help clients manage their symptoms and improve their overall well-being. Therapy is typically focused on exploring the past, present, and future to identify the underlying causes of mental health issues and develop strategies to address them. Coaching, on the other hand, is a process of personal or professional development that helps individuals identify and achieve their goals. Coaches are professionals who work with clients to create a vision of their desired future, set achievable goals, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve success. Coaching is typically focused on the present and future, and is often used to improve performance, enhance personal or professional skills, and achieve greater fulfillment and satisfaction in life. I offer both therapy and coaching since I want to be able meet individual client needs better. For therapy, I focuses on treating mental health disorders and emotional issues. It's process oriented and generally long term. There's more going back and healing involved. With coaching, I focus more on personal and professional development and achieving goals. It's all about empowerment and often is shorter in length. Both can be helpful for individuals seeking to improve their lives, and some people may benefit from both types of support depending on their needs!

What are some benefits of using out-of-network insurance for psychotherapy? Here are some benefits of using out-of-network insurance for psychotherapy: Access to a wider range of therapists: Using out-of-network insurance allows you to choose from a larger pool of therapists, as you are not restricted to only those who are in-network. This can be particularly helpful if you live in an area with few in-network providers or if you have specific preferences for a therapist's training, approach, or experience. More specialized treatment options: Out-of-network insurance may cover more specialized treatment options, such as longer sessions, more frequent sessions, or more intensive forms of psychotherapy. This can be especially important if you have complex mental health needs that require more comprehensive or personalized treatment. Greater privacy and control: When you use out-of-network insurance, your insurance company will not have access to your therapy notes or other confidential information. This can provide you with greater privacy and control over the therapy process. Potentially better quality of care: With access to a wider range of therapists and treatment options, you may be able to find a therapist who is better suited to your needs and preferences. This can lead to a higher quality of care and more effective treatment outcomes. Flexibility in scheduling: Out-of-network providers may have more flexibility in scheduling appointments, which can be especially helpful if you have a busy or unpredictable schedule.
